IPOH: A former contractor chopped his 74-year-old father up into six pieces after the elderly man scolded him for taking syabu.

The 52-year-old man was alleged to have decapitated and dismembered his father’s body on Monday evening and tried to dispose of the body parts at the back of their house in Kanthan New Village, Chemor, here.

According to police sources, the limbs and head of the victim, You Su Kim, were buried while the torso was dumped into a disused septic tank at the back of the house.

Perak Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Asst Comm Yahya Abd Rahman said the man was arrested at about 1.30pm yesterday.

“We received a report that an argu- ment had taken place at the house on Monday night and checked it today (yesterday).

“As the police arrived at the house, the suspect also returned in a car. He tried to get away but was apprehended by the police,” he told reporters when met yesterday.

“We then brought him into the house where he showed us where he tried to get rid of the body,” he said, adding that the head was found about 12m from the septic tank.

“We also found a 0.6m long machete that was used during the crime,” he added.

SAC Yahya said the man had admitted to killing his father.

He said police believed that the crime was committed between 7pm and midnight.

The case, he added, would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

One of the victim’s daughters, who declined to be named, said her younger sister, who lived nearby, heard the argument and saw movement in the house.

She told me that she saw someone holding a stick or a pipe and was swinging it about.

It was also raining heavily that time and she did not check, she said.

She said she came to the house yesterday at about 9am and found the house door ajar.

“I went into my father’s room and found some blood stains but did not find him.

“I called my brother and asked where was our father and he said he was sleeping,” she said.

“I called him again and he said he was making a police report.

“I then called one of my relatives and they rushed over and found the head,” she added.
