Deepak files suit against Najib, Rosmah and two others for conspiracy
KUALA LUMPUR: Carpet seller Deepak Jaikishan has filed yet another suit against former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and two others for conspiracy.
In the suit filed on Oct 12, Deepak has named Najib, Rosmah, Boustead Holdings Berhad and Bakti Wira Development Sdn Bhd as defend- ants. Deepak is seeking to claim various losses caused by the defendants.
He said he was the former director and majority shareholder of Syarikat Astacanggih Sdn Bhd and the minority shareholder of Syarikat Awan Megah (M) Sdn Bhd.
He claimed that via a privatisation agreement dated June 8, 2005, Awan Megah had entered an agree- ment with the government and Syarikat Tanah dan Harta Sdn Bhd to build the National Defence Education Centre (Pushpahanas).
Deepak alleged that the centre was to be built on some 58.3ha and 101.2ha of land in Mukim Kapar and a piece of 20.24ha land in Mukim Bukit Raja, Klang.
He said following the agreement, Awan Megah had offered Asta- canggih to buy the three pieces of land for RM118,573,500 and in return Astacanggih, among others, needed to pay a RM13mil deposit to Awan Megah.
He claimed that Awan Megah via Selangor Wanita Umno chief Datuk Raja Ropiaah Raja Abdullah was also needed to enter into shareholders agreement with the two earlier Astacanggih's shareholders where about 20% or RM4mil would be awarded to Raja Ropiaah in Astacanggih.
He said Awan Megah via Raja Ropiaah failed to submit the land grants to enable the transfer of ownership to Astacanggih, till now.
Deepak is seeking RM600mil in general damages; exemplary damages of RM50mil and aggravated damages of RM26mil.
