Man beaten up for refuelling wrong petrol

-

A KIOSK attendant ended up with bruises on his face after he was beaten up by a group of motorcyclists for refuelling the wrong type of petrol.

In a 42-second video that went viral, Sinar Harian reported that the 23-year-old was dragged outside of the premises by the riders, who had their helmets on at a petrol kiosk in Sungkai, Perak on Oct 6.

The group then beat him up at the refuelling area.

In his police report, the man said that the group of riders came to the kiosk at about 12.45pm. One of them wanted a refuel.

He said the rider did not state which type of petrol and he pumped RON95 for his motorcycle.

“Right after he realised it was not RON97, he became unhappy and said I was careless. I apologised to him, but his friends came and dragged me from the counter.

“I told them again that I was sorry but they didn’t care and started hitting me,” he said.

Tapah OCPD Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail confirmed receiving the report, adding that two statements had been taken.

> Kosmo! reported that the government was ready to engage in discussions and reconsider allowing ketum trees to be planted commercially.

Deputy Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji said that his office was open to views from all including NGOs.

“We have no problem bringing this up to the Cabinet but we want it to be done comprehensively to ensure the planting of herbs such as ketum trees would benefit the medicinal field as well as the people.

“It can be done through cooperation between Forest Research Institute Malaysia and Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute,” he said after opening the Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Seminar in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
