MyPPP officials want MACC to probe Kayveas’ fund claims

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Several office bearers of myPPP want the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe the alleged RM36mil channelled to six individuals as claimed by disputed president Tan Sri M. Kayveas.

“We are shocked when we learned from a news report that Kayveas himself admitted to specific amounts of RM16mil and RM20mil, being given to six individuals.

“We have no knowledge of the alleged money or received any of it.

“The MACC must investigate, reveal the identities of the six involved and take action if the allegation is true,” the party’s spokesman Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan told reporters yesterday.

Dr Loga said the party’s supreme council, which is recognised by the Registrar of Societies, would meet on Oct 30 to discuss Kayveas’ shocking revelation.

“We will lodge reports with the MACC and police.

“Our members and the public have a right to know the truth on who had gotten the money, running into millions of ringgit, the source of the funds and how the sum was used,” he said.

Dr Loga said they would also discuss the 10 police reports lodged against Kayveas since July this year over allegations that he had amassed millions in property and businesses abroad and locally.

“The allegations were highlighted by a blogger and have been on social media with documents showing the said dealings.

“But the police have yet to record any statements or reveal the status of their investigations,” he claimed.

Another party leader Datuk Seri Maglin D’Cruz confirmed that he had received a call from the MACC on Thursday over the funds linked to 1MDB.

D’Cruz said he told the MACC that he had no knowledge of such funds and if there were any documents, they could be in Kayveas’ possession or in a storage room in Subang.

On Thursday, Kayveas claimed he was called by the MACC to clarify over funds linked to 1MDB.

Kayveas said he told the MACC that RM36mil was collected by the opposite faction vying for power within MyPPP.
