Cops: Murdered Briton was still alive when neighbour found him

-

ALOR SETAR: The British man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife at their home in Langkawi on Thursday was still alive when a neighbour found him on the floor of the living room.

Investigations revealed that the victim’s wife had run out of the couple’s house to seek help from a neighbour after the alleged incident.

When the neighbour came over, she called 911 for help after finding him still alive.

However, the 63-year-old was pronounced dead when paramedics checked him. Investigations also showed that the couple had a misunderstanding over a family matter earlier.

The victim, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, had allegedly challenged his wife to stab him.

After the woman attacked her husband, he ran out of the bedroom towards the kitchen, but collapsed at the living room.

He was found lying near a sofa set in the living room of the single storey bungalow. Langkawi OCPD Supt Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said in a WhatsApp message that the victim was a retired fireman from Britain.

He said the couple have been living in Malaysia for the past 11 years under the Malaysia My Second Home programme. He also said the man’s sister had already arrived in Kedah to identify his body.

It was reported that police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The wife has been remanded by the police until Oct 23 for further investigations.
