Nabil awarded ‘best host in Asia’

COMEDIAN and host Nabil Ahmad ( pic) has been awarded the Best Entertainment Presenter/Host at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) that was held in Cannes, France last Monday, Harian Metro reported.

Nabil, 35, said the recognition was his highest achievement after being in the local entertainment industry for almost 10 years.

“Before this, I had only won the fan’s choice award locally. Never did I think that I could come this far and to be awarded the best in Asia.

“I am grateful. This is a blessing and a recognition of my efforts and hard work,” he said.

He also dedicated the award to the people who had encouraged and worked with him over the years.

Housewife Nurul Nur Huda Mohd Zaman, 27, said her husband Hasmizul Hanafi, 30, spotted the object and they decided to bring it home.

“My husband thought it was an antique. However, a neighbour, who was formerly in the army said the object looked like a bomb,” she said.

Fearing for their safety, Nurul told her husband to call the authorities.

A team from the Fire and Rescue Department arrived first.

Then a police bomb disposal unit came and removed the shell.

Kota Setar district police chief Asst Comm Mohd Rozi Jidin confirmed that the bomb was fake.

> A week old baby girl was found by a pathway near the Kota Baru bus station by a rental car driver, Utusan Malaysia reported.

He found the 2.8kg baby wrapped in cloth at 2.30am yesterday.

Kota Baru OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Mat Sidik said the baby was now at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II children’s ward and was in good health.
