Pahang all set for possible floods next month

PAHANG is bracing for possible floods next month due to a spring tide forecast off the coast of Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin from Dec 24-26, reported Kosmo!.

State secretary Datuk Seri Muhammad Safian Ismail said the Pahang government and related public agencies have made preparatio­ns for flood relief.

A total of 6,633 personnel were ready to help with flood relief work while 117 centres have been stocked with supplies for flood victims, he said.

No plea was recorded from You Poh Khoon, 52, after the charge was read out before magistrate Siti Hafiza Jaafar at the Ipoh magistrate’s court on Monday.

Poh Khoon was charged with the murder of You Su Kim, 74, between 9.30am and 1.30pm on Oct 9 in Kanthan Baru.

It was reported that Poh Khoon had cut off his father’s head, then chopped the body into six parts after being scolded for taking drugs.

The court set Nov 16 for case mention.
