‘Better to give us info on Jho Low than go after him’

-

DEPUTY Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman has asked Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to provide information on Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, to the authority instead of going after the fugitive financier himself.

“This is my view, if he has information about Jho Low’s whereabouts, it would be good if he gives that information to us.

“The best way is for him to give the information to the (Home) ministry.

“There is no need for him to go there himself,” Azis told reporters at Parliament lobby.

On Monday, Hishammuddin who is former defence minister said he would go after Jho Low, until the “end of the earth” and bring him back to Malaysia.

He said he would use his previous contacts and links with the Chinese government to try and bring him back.

Meanwhile, Azis said that he and Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin were not present to answer a question regarding their ministry as they were at an official event.

He said both of them did not expect an earlier turn for the Minister’s Question Time (MQT) session.

“We had an official event at the ministry earlier. At the time we did not know it was already question number nine and did not expect four MPs to be absent,” he said.

Following that, Deputy Economic Affairs Minister Senator Mohd Radzi Md Jidin was made to answer on their behalf.

This prompted Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong to criti- cise the Pakatan Harapan government over the absence of its ministers and their deputies in the Dewan Rakyat.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament lobby, the MCA deputy president said he was shocked that no representative from the government was present to answer the 13th question during the MQT session yesterday.

“I understand that some ministers are unwell, but their deputies must at least be on hand to answer the questions,” he said.
