Calling old boys for major jam

-

TO mark 50 years since they left La Salle Brickfields Secondary at the end of Form Three, the class of 1968 are organising a reunion.

“This is a major jam as we called it based on our school days.

“We meet regularly in small groups to chat and to organise this major jam,” said one of the organising team members, Anthony Xavier.

When the students were studying at La Salle Brickfields from 1960 to 1968, he said there there had three schools within one. It was then known as La Salle Brickfields Primary 1, La Salle Brickfields Primary 2 and La Salle Brickfields Secondary, which only offered Forms One to Three at the time. These are now known as SK La Salle Brickfields 1, SK La Salle Brickfields 2 and SMK La Salle Brickfields.

“Without the effort of our dedicated classmates, this major jam since leaving school would not have been possible.

“Organising this and compiling the booklet with passion and fond memories was a mammoth task. A big thank you to all who contributed their recollections and valuable pictures from 1960 to the present day,” he said.

The 65-page booklet is on the former students’ past activities and achievements together.

“We have a section in which we have pictures of us “Now and Then”. This should rekindle memories and bring out the smiles,” he added.

Several teachers will also be joining the reunion.

The cost is RM80 for former students and RM40 for spouses.

The reunion will be held from 7.30pm on Nov 10 at Dewan Hamzah, the Royal Selangor Club Bukit Kiara, Jalan Bukit Kiara, off Jalan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
