NOR Neelofa Mohd Noor (pic), the actress and founder of Neelofar Hijab, hopes to take her brand to a bigger market in the next 10 years, reported Utusan Malaysia.

“Neelofar Hijab is available in 38 countries and we have over 500 stockists. I’ve talked to several people about my plans and 2019 will be an exciting year for us,” she said.

With over 5.8 million Instagram followers, she said she would keep promoting her products online.

> Siti Kamala Nik Kamal and her husband Kamarul Bahrin Jamaluddin are now caring for four grandchildren after their daughter and son-in-law disappeared last year.

“I’ve tried looking for them but failed,” she said, adding that her daughter and son-in-law went out to look for jobs but never returned to their home in Seremban.

Siti Kamala, 59, and Kamarul, 58, do not have a fixed income and rely mostly on public donations.

She has diabetes and high blood pressure but said she pitied her grandchildren, aged three to 10.

“They are good kids and never complain, even when we don’t have food in the house,” she added.

> For over a decade, a single mother boiled stones to trick her hungry children into thinking that food was being prepared for them, Berita Harian reported.

Noorhayati Said, 41, from Bota, Perak, said she did it to get them to sleep and that things got worse after she lost two fingers in April due to diabetes.

Her eldest son Mohd Amirul Hayat Abdullah, 17, then became the breadwinner.

“He wanted to quit school and find a job, but I told him to at least complete his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia so he could have a better future,” Noorhayati said.
