Ben Ladin doesn’t want to be a one-hit wonder

RISING teenage hip-hop star Ben Ladin is determined to stay relevant in the industry and is busy devising ways to stay on top, reported Berita Harian.

Ben, who is working hard on his second single, hopes it will be a hit just like the first one because he doesn’t want to be a one-hit-wonder.

The 17-year-old lad gained popularity through his Hikayat Benladin song which was released several months ago.

Ben admitted that although he was not a newbie in the industry, it was the song that really propelled him up the ladder.

“Many didn’t know that back in 2013 I joined Idola Kecil when I was 11.

“From there, I started my career in acting and hosting,” he said.

Other than working with composer and former hip-hop rapper Malique, Ben has also shared a stage with popular singer Datin Alyah.

“Alyah once told me that no matter which field I choose to be in, the most important thing is to have discipline,” he said.

Since then, the brothers have been under the care of their 67-yearold grandmother Che Pah Ramli and they are living hand-to-mouth.

To earn a living, Che Pah sells traditional cakes to nearby restaurants and stalls and brings home about RM30 daily.
