Action star accused of being a vain person

HONG Kong action movie star Donnie Yen (pic) is filing a defamation suit against a China-based film producer for accusing him of being a prima donna, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Apparently, the company which produced Iceman: The Time Traveller had made allegations that he would simply change his lines as he wished, behave unprofessionally during filming and also refuse to help promote the movie.

Yen, who is of the Ip Man fame, said he would seek compensation from the company and donate the money to charity if he wins the case.

Dispelling such allegations, Yen said he was unable to participate in the promotional activities because there was no advance notice.

He is now busy filming another movie.

Yen said the producer might have made up the story to beef up interest among movie-goers as the film had received lukewarm response.

The song titled Go Home and Vote was rewritten with new lyrics but the core message is similar as it is intended to ask voters to return home to vote.

The cover version was done by fans of Han Kuo-yu, one of the candidates running for the mayor of Kaohsiung, the third largest city in Taiwan.

The election is set for Nov 24.
