Hot-tempered man attacks supervisor over appraisal

-

LIMBANG: An administrative assistant was arrested for attempting to attack his supervisor with a machete after being given lower marks in his Annual Work Target (SKT).

Limbang police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the 31-year-old suspect, who is working in Limbang Hospital, was picked up at 12.35pm yesterday in Kampung Patiambun after the victim lodged a police report.

The victim is a 34-year-old woman.

“A machete measuring 42.5cm in a wooden sheath was confiscated,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Supt Bukhori said the suspect admitted bringing the machete during the incident at 2.15pm on Thursday as he was not satisfied with the SKT marks of 80% given by the victim compared to 87% earlier.

“Investigation found the suspect, who works in the same section with the victim for two years, had brought the machete and unsheathed it in an attempt to attack the victim on the day of the incident,” he said.

He said the victim had called the suspect for a discussion but it was ignored and the suspect then attempted to attack the victim.

However, a colleague who was at the scene, managed to prevent it.

“The victim was not injured,” he said, adding that the victim told police the suspect was a hot-tempered person. — Bernama
