Perak PAC: Zambry called up after collective decision

-

IPOH: The decision to summon two witnesses for an inquiry into the financial records of Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) was a collective one, says Perak Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Leong Cheok Keng.

He said six of seven PAC members who attended the Nov 15 meeting decided that former mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and MB Inc’s Datuk Aminuddin Hashim should attend the hearing.

All PAC members attended the meeting except for Umno’s Slim River assemblyman Datuk Kushairi Abdul Talib, he said.

“Umno’s Pengkalan Hulu assemblyman Datuk Aznel Ibrahim and PAS’ Gunung Semanggol assemblyman Razman Zakaria were present during the meeting where I mentioned about calling up Dr Zambry and Aminuddin for the public hearing scheduled for Nov 26,” he told reporters yesterday.

Also present were PAC commit- tee members Chong Zhemin from DAP and Sandra Ng Shy Ching from PKR.

On Monday, Aznel and Razman claimed they were unaware of the decision made by Leong.

Chong, who is also DAP’s Keranji assemblyman, said a PAC meeting schedule this Friday would focus on preparations before the public hearing.

“Since Dr Zambry stated that there is nothing to hide about MB Inc, he will be setting a good exam- ple by attending the hearing,” he added.

Chong, the PAC deputy chairman, presented a video recorded on Nov 15 showing Leong speaking at a press conference about calling Dr Zambry and Aminuddin.

The recording showed Razman seated next to Leong during the press conference.

Both Dr Zambry and Aminuddin are expected to attend the public hearing on Nov 26, a day before the state assembly sitting.
