Proton X70 takes centrestage
New crowd-puller will be launched on Dec 12
KUALA LUMPUR: The Proton X70 was a crowd puller at the opening of the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2018 (KLIMS’18) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec).
The exhibition, which started yesterday, ends on Dec 2.
Another hot favourite at the motor show are the tall Korean brand ambassadors for Hyundai, where visitors sought to pose pictures with these pretty models.
Five units of Proton X70 are placed on display and eager visitors can take a closer look at these Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) which will be launched on Dec 12.
Retiree Richard Loh said he was keen to buy the SUV.
“The Proton X70 is attractive. At the same time, I am also looking at other SUVs like the Honda CR-V,” he said.
Retiree Zakaria Said, 55, who drove all the way from Segamat, Johor, said he was a car enthusiast and “like international motor shows like this”.
He said he was keen to know more of the Proton X70 and other SUVs at the exhibition.
For 23-year-old sales executive Raja Abdul Halim, aside from the Proton SUV, the other attraction at the motor show was Kia Stinger.
Participating automotive brands include CAM, Citroen, Daihatsu, DS, Ford, Grand Max, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Lexus, Petronas Motorsports, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Perodua, Peugeot, Proton, Tata, Toyota and UD Trucks.
KLIMS 18 opening hours are from 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm on weekends.
Every entrance ticket purchased stands a chance to win either a Toyota C-HR, a Honda City or a Perodua Myvi through a lucky draw.
Entrance tickets secured via online at AirAsia Red Tix are also entitled to win a fortnightly draw with AirAsia return flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Bali, Taipei, Jakarta and Shanghai as well as the grand draw to Tokyo.

Entrance fees are RM20 on weekdays and RM25 on weekends.
For children aged three to 12 years old, entrance tickets are RM5 and students/senior citizens are charged RM5 (weekdays only).
There is also a family package where parents and up to five children aged 12 years old and below are charged RM40 (weekdays) and RM50 (weekends).
Those with special needs (with handicapped card/physically handicapped) get free entry together with one accompanying person.

Amyra Rosli, Elizabeth Tan and Jinny Boy will make their appearances today while Alif Satar and Sazzy Falak will be at the exhibition tomorrow.
