GEORGE TOWN: With the Yuletide season approaching, festive items like Santa hats with reversible sequins are highly popular among shoppers.

The floppy pointed hat has reversible sequins on both sides and each side comes with different colours, mainly gold with red or blue.

S&J Gift Shop adviser Cheryl Tan said the reversible sequins were eye-catching.

“This makes it unique and people like to play with it, as the design can easily be changed with the brush of the hand.

“It is quite popular among the young as they like such one-of-akind products,” she said.

Tan said the two-sided reversible sequins were sewn on the fabric with a spandex mesh ground.

“Most people are opting for gold and red because these colours are closely associated with Christmas,” she said.

“A lot of people are into stuff with bling or glitter on them, so basically anything that sparkles is eye-catching.”

Another hot-selling item is the “magical snowball” that contains a variety of items like handmade soaps, essential oils, necklaces and scented candles.

Each snowball adorned with a mini Santa Claus is delicately wrapped with colourful fabrics.

Blu Scent Aromatherapy supervisor Nicole Leong said the soaps and candles handcrafted with essential oils make wonderful gifts.

“Our products are carefully crafted with essential oils. We have a variety of different smells to suit different users.

“It has been quite popular among female shoppers as they are more into aromatherapeutic products and personal care,” Leong said.
