Chance for BRATs pack to enjoy Genting’s Skytropolis
PETALING JAYA: BRATs Genting 2018 participants will be among the first to experience the brand-new attractions that Genting Highlands has to offer, including indoor theme park Skytropolis due to open soon.
The final BRATs young journalist workshop of the year will be held from Dec 19 to 22 at the hilltop resort, where aspiring journalists aged 16 to 19 will have the opportunity to learn the basics of multime- dia journalism from award-winning R.AGE journalists.
Armed with new skills that include writing, videography, photography and interviewing, they will get to go on exclusive assignments, including going behind-thescenes at Skytropolis and checking out the new virtual reality experience, The Void.
Articles and photos from these assignments will be published both online as well as in Star NiE, and BRATs-produced videos will be published online and on social media.
The BRATs young journalist programme has been running for over 20 years and has produced countless alumni who have gone on to succeed in the media industry as well as become R.AGE journalists themselves.
Past BRATs camp participants have gone on exciting assignments, including interviewing butlers, gibbon-watching and even interviewing street musicians.
“It’s our duty and privilege to help mould the next generation of journalists,” said BRATs coordinator and R.AGE journalist Lim May Lee.
“The youth have an important role to play in the future of media, and it’s an honour to help spark what could be a lifelong passion for storytelling and journalism.”
