Rapper makes ‘Altimet’ decision to quit singing

-

RAPPER Altimet (pic) has announced he is retiring after his final performance next February, Utusan Malaysia reported.

He is honouring a promise he made a decade ago to quit singing.

The singer, whose real name is Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, said he would, however, continue to write and compose songs.

“I hope there is no confusion, I will only quit singing.

“I will still write songs and lyrics,” said the 40-year-old singer, whose latest single Amboi had him rapping furiously about keyboard warriors, busybodies and those who try their darndest to appear well-to-do.

Altimet, however, did not rule out the possibility of making a comeback if his mother Jamilah Agil allowed it.

“She doesn’t want me to sing anymore. As a son, that is a decision that I must follow.

“I don’t want to be anak derhaka (a disobedient child),” he said.

> The wife of Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob claimed her family were victims of black magic not long after her husband’s appointment in 2013, Harian Metro reported.

Datin Siti Zabidah Ab Hamid said her children were inflicted with sickness between 2014 and 2015.

“A lot of people came to our house offering assistance to overcome the spell, including from Indonesia.

“My children, luckily, recovered,” she said.

Siti Zabidah was a teacher at Maahad Muhammadi Pasir Pakan and resigned when Ahmad was sworn in as mentri besar.

She said seeing her children down with unknown sickness was her biggest challenge.
