Apologise over false claims against Dr M first, Ti tells Kit Siang
PETALING JAYA: MCA will take into consideration Lim Kit Siang’s advice on the party’s stance on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal provided the DAP adviser first apologises to the nation.
“MCA will consider Kit Siang’s advice on 1MDB when he apologises to the nation for all the ‘false accusations’ he made against Dr Mahathir in the past decades,” its vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker said in a statement yesterday.
Ti was responding to the Iskander Puteri MP who accused MCA of failing to repudiate former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak over the 1MDB scandal during the party’s annual general assembly.
“MCA would also like to ask when will Kit Siang and DAP apologise to Malaysians and Dr Mahathir now that he is silent on all the mega scandals that he alleged against Dr Mahathir in the past.
“MCA is now being vindicated for not listening to Kit Siang and DAP which in the past used to attack Dr Mahathir,” he said.
Ti claimed that over the years, DAP had “ferociously criticised and chastised” Dr Mahathir for being a dictator and the most corrupt prime minister in the country.
Ti also slammed Lim for his obsession over MCA instead of focusing on his constituency and other pertinent national issues.
Ti added that although MCA may be down now, the party will still be around to serve the community even if it had no seats.
“We will not vanish and will continue to be around to fulfil the principles of the two-party system that Kit Siang has hypocritically promoted. The rule of the game is that there must always be check and balance, which the DAP stalwart has conveniently forgotten now that he is governing,” he said.
