IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu says he has no problem helping the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) investigation into a plot to topple him.

However, he doubts that he would be of much help.

“I have no problem if I am called. I am good with everyone,” he told reporters yesterday.

Ahmad Faizal said he could only tell MACC what he knew, and what the media had informed him.

He has been in the news of late following allegations by Perak opposition leader Datuk Saarani Mohamad that Perak DAP vice-chairman and state exco Dr Abdul Aziz Bari was out to topple him as Mentri Besar.

Abdul Aziz gave his statement to MACC regarding the issue on Wednesday.

Asked about Saarani’s claim he had statutory declarations of the Umno assemblymen approached by Abdul Aziz, Ahmad Faizal said anyone could come up with such declarations.

“It is for Saarani to prove that it was indeed Abdul Aziz who is behind the plot.

“Whatever the news is, we, the state government, is still intact,” he said.

Ahmad Faizal, who is Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman, said he had no plans to submit a motion to Pakatan Harapan presidential council to deliberate on the allegations.

Asked if Abdul Aziz had met him after the controversy, Ahmad Faizal said no.

“However, after the wrap-up of the state assembly meeting on Wednesday, we took photos and congratulated each other,” he said.
