JOHOR BARU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin dismissed talks that Datuk Osman Sapian will be replaced or toppled.

He said the Johor Mentri Besar had done his best and that the party was behind him.

“There are some issues that have been discussed when he met with the Prime Minister or me to get advice and direction.

“Each MB will have his own challenges,” he said, adding that Osman was still new.

Muhyiddin stressed on the need for political stability in the state and the party had its own rules.

“If there are issues that people are not happy with or want to give suggestions or improvements, these can be brought up in places like the state convention,” he said.

Asked whether Bersatu still supported Osman, Muhyiddin said: “We are with him.”

Muhyiddin was speaking to report- ers after opening the Johor Bersatu convention here yesterday.

On Friday, Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim said there was a move from someone to topple Osman as the Mentri Besar.

“You are not even the Prime Minister. What makes you think that by trying to lobby having an MB who will be your puppet, you can control Johor?” he tweeted.

“You are lobbying for one of our excos to be MB. We know that. This is not 1992 anymore, my friend,” he wrote.
