GEORGE TOWN: If you have what it takes to excel, campuses everywhere are ready to support your education.

This is evident at Star Education Fair 2018 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre where thousands of parents and their children dropped in to “shop” for the best deals.

Taking centrestage is Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, which is offering a 100% waiver of tuition fees for those with at least 10As in the SPM.

The university’s recruiter, Assiegierl Ariqa, said that subject to terms, this means students only pay for accommodation, an annual resource fee of RM1,500 and other incidentals.

“This is how the campus encourages top performers to experience the uniqueness of the campus population in Cyberjaya, where 70% of the students are from abroad.

“We have students from about 180 countries.

“So, Malaysian students get a truly international feel,” she said, adding that the full waiver covers all diploma and degree pro- grammes.

Tunku Abdul Rahman University College is also offering a full waiver for tuition fees for diploma, foundation and A- Level courses. Exclusively for SPM students with at least nine As, partial waivers are also available for students with eight As and below.

The school holidays had proven to be a great time for school leavers to get a broad look at their options at the fair, said INTI International College Penang assistant vice-president Patrick Ooi.

He said several students had already signed up for courses yesterday.

“Many apply now to be eligible for our scholarship waivers. If they delay, they may not have the chance to get them,” he added.

The fair, which ends today, sees 35 exhibitors promoting various education programmes.

Admal Aviation College is offering school leavers the chance to be an aircraft engineer or even commercial pilot.

Lecturer Adam Syahmi Abd Malek said school leavers can study for two years to get an air transport pilot licence which offers a variety of career options in the Asean region.

Other professional training programmes offered at the fair include beauty, cosmetology and medical aesthetics by TMC College and auto- motive and aircraft engineering qualifications by Despark College.

Star Education Fair 2018 is organised by i.Star Events Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Star Media Group Berhad.
