Love at first sight despite 30-year age gap

-

IT was love at first sight for a man 30 years older than his bride-to-be.

“The first time I saw her, I fell in love. I didn’t think she would feel the same because of our 30-year age gap,” Kosmo! quoted Raduan Yaakob, 50, as saying.

He is set is marry Nor Fatim Aisyah Mohd Noor on Dec 29 at her home in Pasir Puteh, Kota Baru.

A widower with four children, Raduan said they met about a year ago when Nor Fatim helped him with his catering business.

“I have a catering business in Pahang and Kelantan. At that time, Nor Fatim had just finished her STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) examination,” he said.

Raduan said he had earlier joked with Nor Fatim’s parents about proposing to her.

“And now a marriage is on the cards,” he said.

He said he was relieved his four children had accepted Nor Fatim as their stepmother.

Nor Fatim said Raduan was a loving and responsible person.

“He loves me and I’m so grateful to have met him. It’s fate,” she said.

> A mother of six was fined RM900 by the Sessions Court in Johor Baru after she pleaded guilty to keeping two saltwater crocodiles (buaya tembaga), Berita Harian reported.

“I swore it is not for my consumption,” said Ang Kim Hong, 47, as she pleaded for leniency.

Ang, who is a widow, was found to have committed the offence in Gelang Patah on Aug 15, 2016.

She said she had been keeping the crocodiles for about three months before she was caught.

“I kept them because they were unwell. I felt sorry for them. I didn’t know it is an offence to keep crocodiles,” she said, adding that they were very thin.

Judge Jailani Abdul Rahman said he took into consideration that Ang, who works as a lemongrass cutter, had to fend for her family.

The court allowed her to settle the fines in three gradual payments.
