SONGSTRESS Shiha Zikir (pic) is proud that her first dangdut single is a hit in Indonesia, reported Harian Metro.

Her song – Pipiyama (Pilih Pilih Yang Mana) – was chosen to be performed by contestants in the reality show Dangdut Academy Asia 4, which was aired on Indonesian television.

Shiha, whose full name is Nurshiha Mohd Zikir, said she would be focusing on the Indonesian market.

“I chose dangdut songs because it’s easier to be closer to the viewers and I can dance with them. Before this, I have many ballads.

“My fans in Indonesia have been waiting for my dangdut single,” she said.

She said she was certain that the song – composed by Atra Petrana – would also be warmly received by music fans in Malaysia.

> Sinar Harian reported that an antique collector from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, struck gold when he found a 154-year-old lamp.

Anuar Salleh, 40, said he had been collecting lamps since the 1990s and felt elated when he found the lamp made in England in 1864.

The lamp, which had an inscription with the words “The Jolly Tar”, was used in a ship belonging to British maritime icon Jack Tar.

“I understand that Jack Tar was a captain of the British Navy in the 18th century and the lamp is evidence of his fame,” he said.

He claimed to have found the lamp buried in a riverbank in Semerak while searching for metal objects a month ago.
