Going all the way to Medan for fried chicken

AN up-and-coming singer from Sabah said his hunt for good food led him to make a one-day trip to Medan, Indonesia, just to savour the fried chicken there.

“I arrived in Medan in the morning and returned to KL in the evening,” Andi Bernadee ( pic), 27, told Kosmo! Ahad.

Once, he craved so much for fried chicken with glutinous rice that he took a 12-hour bus ride to Haadyai to savour the dish.

However, he is not a fan of durians.

“Even though it is the king of fruits, I am not so fond of it,” said Andi, who is known for his song Satu Peluang.

Apparently, the 50-year-old Singaporean tourist died of a heart attack during the journey to Genting Highlands on Saturday.

All the passengers, including his relative who had travelled with him, got down from the bus when they arrived at their hotel.

When the relative realised that he had not got off the bus, he went back to the vehicle.

“The relative tried to wake him up.

“It was then they realised that the man was not conscious,” said Bentong district police chief Supt Yusuf Unis.

It is believed that the man was still alive when the bus made a stop at the rest area in Melaka.

> Awie, the vocalist of the popular group Wings, has sought treatment for breathing difficulties, Sinar Harian reported.

“I’m not sure yet about the illness,” said Awie, whose real name is Ahmad Azhar Othman.

Awie, who has been warded at a hospital in Selangor, said he had been unwell for three days before he went to the hospital.

He was earlier invited for a performance in Penang, which he had to give a miss due to his current situation.

His management company issued a statement, saying that Awie had been advised by doctors to get complete rest.
