Wang fans help to clean up rubbish after concert

-

FANS of Mandopop heartthrob Wang Lee Hom were seen picking up rubbish after his concert ended.

This came about after the Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter advised his fans not to litter, China Press reported.

The Free Show concert, which is organised annually on Jan 1 by Wang, who also self-funds it, was held at Da’an Park in Taipei.

When he held a concert at the same venue about 20 years ago, the event ended with the park covered in trash.

This time, Wang told concertgoers to not repeat the offence.

The spectators duly took heed of his advice.

Wang sang 23 songs at the two- and-a-half hour concert.

> A diamond tycoon has been organising mass weddings annually in India since 2010 for orphaned and impoverished women, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Mahesh Savani, 48, would provide a total of 500,000 rupees (RM29,400) of dowry, including gold, furniture and even life insur- ance for his “daughters”.

It all started when one of his distant relatives died, survived by two daughters.

Mahesh helped with their weddings and then began helping others who were poor.

Last Christmas Eve, the charitable tycoon gave away 261 “goddaughters”, including 54 orphans.
