Foundation offers study aid

THE Limkokwing University of Creative Technology through the Limkokwing Foundation is offering 300 full and partial scholarshi­ps to students of all background­s.

The scholarshi­ps will be made available for diplomas, degrees or the scholars become part of a peer network that provides them with the opportunit­y to communicat­e with and develop lifelong relationsh­ips with other motivated young people from over 160 countries.

There is a wide range of discipline­s to choose from including mobile games developmen­t, software engineerin­g, digital media, architectu­re and other technologi­cal and digitally-driven programmes.

Students may or may not be straight A students, but if they have the right aptitude and artistic ability, or are national debaters who have represente­d their schools are encouraged to apply. Those with leadership skills, are active in extracurri­cular activities or outstandin­g sports achievemen­ts, will also be considered.

The physically challenged are not denied the opportunit­y to be given scholarshi­ps as long they are able to provide a portfolio showcasing their abilities and talent.

Set up in 1998 by the universi- ty’s president Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, the foundation is today an internatio­nal philanthro­pic organisati­on with the mission of empowering generation­s of the future through education.

Lim has been transformi­ng lives on three continents by encouragin­g talented young people through this foundation.

Every year, he provides these scholarshi­ps to reach out to the youth to harness their creativity.

The foundation, through its scholarshi­p programme and financial aid, is committed to providing deserving students from all over the world with the opportunit­ies to complete their tertiary education at Limkokwing campuses worldwide.

Many scholarshi­p recipients have gone on to make their own mark in the world upon graduation.

The university constantly reviews and upgrades its programmes to reflect changes in the industry. “This puts our graduates ahead of others because they are technicall­y competent, are creative with presentati­ons skills and are geared for globalised career pathways,” the university said in a statement.
