IGP: Cops still looking for Indira’s daughter
KUALA LUMPUR: The Bukit Aman CID has not stopped searching for M. Indira Gandhi’s ex-husband Muhammad Riduan Abdullah and their daughter Prasana Diksa, says Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
The Inspector-General of Police said efforts by the CID have not stopped despite allegations by certain parties that the police were not doing enough to search for the two.
“Police officers and personnel are working tirelessly to track them down,” he told a press conference after attending the Federal Reserve Unit’s 63rd anniversary celebration yesterday.
Bukit Aman also needed people’s assistance to trace the whereabouts of Muhammad Riduan and Prasana.
“We hope anyone with information will come forward as soon as possible,” he said.
A group – Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) – has offered the public a RM10,000 reward to track down Muhammad Riduan and Prasana.
The group had appealed to the public to provide the relevant information on their whereabouts.
Indira said although she won her legal battle in the courts, she could not get Prasana back.
“My worst fear as a mother is I don’t know whether she is alive.
“The Ingat team checked with the Education Ministry’s database but we cannot find her name registered in any school,” she had said.
On Jan 29 last year, the Federal Court ruled the conversion of Indira Gandhi’s three children by her ex-husband was illegal.
