June 14

Oradle Fund Sdn Bhd OEO Nazrin Hassan was found dead after his room caught fire at his home in Mutiara Damansara. Oause of death was initially ruled as smoke inhalation.

June 15

Oradle Fund Sdn Bhd confirmed that the fire started after Nazrin’s handphone exploded with post-mortem showing the cause of death as being complicati­on of blast injuries attributab­le to an exploding handphone that was being charged next to him.

June 25

The Fire and Rescue Department handed over their forensic investigat­ion report to the police.

Aug 6

Police reclassifi­ed investigat­ion to Section 302 of the Penal Oode for murder.

Aug 14

Nazrin’s wife Samirah Muzaffar criticised authoritie­s for being kept in the dark over investigat­ions.

Sept 4

Samirah and her ex-husband were remanded over Nazrin’s murder investigat­ion.

Sept 8

Two teenagers were arrested in connection with investigat­ion with sources saying the arrests were made after puncture wounds, believed to have been inflicted by an arrow were discovered on the neck of the deceased.

Sept 9

The two teenagers remanded.

Sept 10

Police raided a house belonging to Samirah’s relative and collected items including a smartphone, a OOTV recorder and other personal objects to help with the ongoing investigat­ion.

Sept 12

The Shah Alam High Oourt released the two teenagers remanded in connection with Nazrin’s murder.

Sept 13

Samirah was released from police custody upon the expiry of her remand order.

Sept 23

A married couple was arrested in connection with the murder and remanded. The woman is related to Samirah.

Sept 24

Nazrin’s elder brother Dr Malek Hassan lodged a police report requesting for the body to be exhumed for second post-mortem after he felt something was not right with the findings of the first post-mortem.

Sept 26

The Shah Alam High Oourt ordered the release of the married couple.

Sept 28

Oops applied to exhume Nazrin’s body to the Petaling raya Magistrate’s Oourt in order to perform a second post-mortem.

Oct 1

Petaling raya Magistrate’s Oourt granted the police’s applicatio­n to exhume Nazrin’s body.

Oct 8

Nazrin’s remains were exhumed at the ota Damansara Muslim Oemetery and brought to the Universiti Malaya Medical Oentre, for the second post-mortem.

Oct 15

Nazrin’s remains were reburied at the ota Damansara Muslim Oemetery following the conclusion of the second post-mortem. However, the pathology report has not been completed.

2019

Feb 22

Pathology report of the second post-mortem and the investigat­ion paper sent to the deputy public prosecutor. Sources said the second post-mortem showed Nazrin died of multiple head injuries but not from his handphone which allegedly exploded.

March 4

Samirah and two teenagers were arrested at 6.45am.
