Noodle shop thief steals 130 boiled eggs

Owner puzzled to find ingredients gone but cash register untouched

-

IT was a little “egg-centric” but a thief broke into a noodle shop in Tokyo, Japan, and stole 130 soft boiled eggs, reported China Press.

The ramen shop owner was perplexed when he discovered the break-in while preparing ingredients for the day’s business.

What was more unusual was that he found cash in the register untouched.

According to police, five other restaurants along the same street were also broken into and suffered a total loss of 10,000 yen (RM369).

Since soft boiled eggs are one of the main ingredients in ramen, the owner took to social media to announce that the shop would be closed for a day while he replenished the stock.

> China Press also reported that 12 cosplayers, eight of whom were female, were arrested during an illegal Anime Festival held in a hotel along Jalan Putra in Kuala Lumpur.

An Immigration officer said the festival did not have any permit from the Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal).

“The eight female cosplayers also did not have a proper work permit for the two-day event,” he said.

Five of the detainees were from Japan, three from Singapore, two from Thailand and one from Hong Kong, along with one Malaysian male. They were detained under the Immigration Act.

> The University of Tokyo and Nissin Foods announced that they had successfully “grown” a steak in a lab using cells from a cow, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The research group said most lab-grown meat from other countries was in minced form, so they wanted to focus on cultivating a different beef cut.

During the cultivation process, the research team added vitamin C to cow cells and successfully cultured them into mature cells.

The group added that this method would soon replace traditional meat production to meet demand.
