Irresistib­le deals at MATTA Fair

Free air tickets and attractive discounts await travellers in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: To add to the excitement of this year’s Malaysian Associatio­n of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair Penang, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and its sister company, Firefly Airlines, will be offering irresistib­le discounts of up to 50% on internatio­nal and domestic airfares.

MAS global head of sales Roslan Ismail said visitors could expect great deals of up to 30% off on MAS’ business and economy class within its network via participat­ing travel agents.

“MAS will be giving away a total of four air tickets for the Buyers’ Contest, which include one return business class ticket from Penang to Xiamen, and one return economy class ticket each from Penang to Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Kochi,” he said.

Roslan said Firefly would be offering discounts of up to 52% on fares to any of its destinatio­n.

“Visitors can stand a chance to win one return ticket each from Penang to Phuket and Kuantan.

“Firefly will also be introducin­g direct service from Penang to Kuantan, starting on April 8,” he said.

Roslan added that MAS had recently launched its latest product – MH Explorer – for students aged between 18 and 26.

“Students can enjoy exclusive privileges, which include 20% off on airfares all year round, additional 10kg baggage allowance on all classes, one compliment­ary travel date change, special friends and family promotions and Enrich miles,” he said.

MAS will be the official airline for MATTA Fair Penang 2019 for the second consecutiv­e year.

MATTA honorary secretary-general Nigel Wong said the fair would feature 263 exhibition booths by 76 participat­ing organisati­ons, comprising MATTA members, travel and tour agencies, National Tourism Organisati­ons, state tourism offices, hotels, theme parks and other tourism-related companies.

“A lot of attractive packages are available for both local and overseas trips.

“There will also be special umrah and haj pilgrimage tours for Muslim travellers,” he said at a press conference at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas yesterday.

The fair will be held at Setia SPICE Arena from April 5 to April 7 from 10am to 9pm.

Admission is free.
