Impatient crowd jostles for entry to Lima’19

DAY one of public visitation to the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima’19) was a crowd-puller, reported China Press.

Thousands of people began queuing up outside the venue as early as 7am.

The crowd’s frustration grew after the wait became longer.

They also complained that there were no clear division of lines and entrances between normal ticket buyers, online ticket buyers and the elderly, disabled and children under 12.

A commotion broke out before visitors entered the venue but once the gates opened at 9am the long queue moved along in an orderly fashion and everything went smoothly after.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has plans to work with a major supermarket chain to open the state’s own supermarket offering better deals for the people.

In his Facebook post on Thursday, Sultan Ibrahim, who is currently on a trip to the Middle East, said the supermarket had given its assurance that products would be cheaper by 10% compared with other supermarkets while maintaining quality.

“This will benefit the people, especially the low-income group.

“They will be able to get their supply of basic necessities at lower prices,” he said.

> Taiwanese singer David Tao reportedly postponed all his work commitments to help his wife take care of their baby, reported Guang Ming Daily.

Tao’s baby was born last month, earlier than expected.

He was supposed to record his song tracks in the United States this month for his upcoming album.

But since his baby arrived earlier, Tao had to postpone work to a later date to ensure his family would be able to travel with him.

He even moved his studio out of the house to ensure that his child was not disturbed.
