ALAM: Terengganu’s ex-player Faiz Nasir (pic) came back to haunt his former team at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The Turtles’ former lynchpin, was the toast of Selangor when he finished off a brilliant move between K. Prabakaran and Abdul Halim Saari in the 1-0 win on Friday.

The visitors could have salvaged a point In the dying stages of the game but Kipre Tchetche, who has yet to score in seven games, placed his shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Terengganu coach Irfan Bakti said Faiz was the only outstanding player for Selangor.

“Up front, only my ex-player played well. The other Selangor players were just normal,” said Irfan.

Irfan would have wished he had the pintsized midfielder in his side as the 26-yearold’s confidence is at an all-time high after scoring for Malaysia on his debut in the Airmarine Cup last week.

“The boy wanted to move to greener pastures. He wanted a more comfortable life and we cannot stop him.”

Irfan also served a warning to his misfiring striker Tchetche.

“The Kipre of old would have ripped the net. That chance in the dying stages should have been buried.

“We will give him another chance but if he still fails to score, we will have to take immediate action. We cannot wait too long.”

When asked if he is already looking for a new striker in the second transfer window, Irfan said: “Not sure yet, we will see. We will work on how to solve his problem. Chances were there for the taking against Selangor but we didn’t take them.”

On Tuesday, Terengganu will be playing Ultimate FC in the FA Cup.

Irfan said players who have yet to feature in the league will be fielded.

“We will be using all local players. They will have to be on their toes and not underestimate their opponents.”

Terengganu are sixth in the Super League with nine points from seven games.
