Marauding PKNP want to smash Batu Dua

-

PETALING JAYA: Batu Dua could be in for a rough ride as PKNP are in a goalscoring mood.

After thrashing Kuala Lumpur 4-0 in the Super League last week, the side led by Abu Bakar Fadzim are looking to continue that momentum in the second round FA Cup at the Sultan Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu today.

However, PKNP are also aware that Batu Dua are also capable of demolishing teams. The side led by Zulhamizan Zakaria thrashed Rawang City 17-1 in the Cup qualifying round.

Abu Bakar said he was at the match and believes his players are capable of marching into the next round.

“We know their strength. Batu Dua’s strikeforce looks good because they have some players who played in the Super and Premier League,” said the former Perak coach.

“But, I believe in my boys. The 4-0 win has boosted their confidence and I know they can continue with that tempo.

“In the first six games, we struggled with our momentum and even though we played well in some of those games, we could not bury our chances.

“Now our attackers have found their touch and the defence looks strong too.

“The balance is there, and it is good for the team.”

Abu Bakar reminded his players that this is a knockout game and urged them to make their chances count.

“Yashir (Islame) and Giancarlo (Rodrigues) have found their groove with Hafiz (Ramdan) and Mugen (G. Mugenthiran). So I believe they can get us the goals.

“Amani (Aguinaldo) will also return for this game and I will be fielding him at rightback as Ezzanie Salleh is not match fit.

“(Thomas) Abbey will be playing on the left of our defence.”

Mugenthiran, who scored against Kuala Lumpur, wants to continue his good form.

“Coach has always believed in my abilities and I want to repay him,” said the winger.
