Fret not! Get some useful tips from Methodist College Kuala Lumpur assistant marketing manager Ng Jiehan, who will be giving a talk on “Options After

SPM” at the education and career talks of the Star Education

Fair 2019 happening this weekend at the Sunway Convention Centre.

Speaking at noon on Saturday, Ng will guide you on determining the most suitable programmes and pathways for school-leavers.

“The talk is a guide for school-leavers and to alert them on what to look out for when choosing from various study programmes available in the market,” said Ng, who will also speak on the American degree transfer programme that Methodist College Kuala Lumpur offers.

He noted that students should not make the mistake of following their friends when making important life decisions.

“Following peers remains the biggest problem among schoolleavers when they decide on their next step.

“They should follow their own pace and interest, and do what is best for themselves,” he said, adding that parents need to give children more time to think over what they want.

Other talks on Saturday include “Your Future in Accounting & Finance”, “Future Career: Data Profession”, “Career Opportunities in Dental Technology in the 21st Century”, “Digital Marketing for Millennials” and “How We Make Money From Engineering, Science & Technology since Undergraduate level”.

A session on “In Search of Business Education: What Students Should Expect From Their Tertiary Experience” from 3.15pm to 3.45pm on Saturday will be conducted by QUEST International University Faculty of Business and Management deputy dean Dr Jeffrey Yee.

The talk is about learning at the tertiary level and the kinds of environments that are conducive for learning, as well as tips on creating more meaningful tertiary years.

A talk on “Charting Your Pathway After SPM” by SEGi University and Colleges head of student affairs and alumni relations Anand Vijey Manicam will be held from 3.45pm to 4.15pm on Sunday, along with talks on “Study and Work Overseas”, “Earn a Harvard Business Diploma and Explore The World”, and “What Makes or Breaks Your Chance to Impress Future Employers?”

A “Career Test & Guidance”, managed by SEGi, is also available on both days to help determine suitable pathways.

Experienced counsellors will be present to guide students on their test results.

Students can also look up attractive scholarships, fee waivers and bursaries that are readily available at the event.
