A NETIZEN who hailed a ride on Uber in Hong Kong recently was pleasantly surprised that the driver was Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung’s (pic) mother.

China Press reported that Shally, who has been driving for one-anda-half years, has more than 2,000 rides under her belt with a rating of 4.89 out of 5.

The daily reported that the passenger was satisfied with the journey throughout.

It was also reported that Shally, 58, would also help passengers with their luggage and that she did not put on airs despite being Cheung’s mother.

Netizens have since showered her with compliments, such as, “It was good that she has her own career and relies on her own for income.”

> Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a woman, who is six months pregnant, swallowed 59 capsules containing heroin and passed out in Xiaxi province, China.

It was reported that some of the capsules burst in her stomach.

Police said a passer-by found her unconscious near some bushes on March 25 and sent her to a hospital.

Capsules weighing 600g were removed from the woman’s body during surgery.

The woman admitted that she was a drug mule and that she had swallowed the drugs on March 21 before taking a train to Xi’an.

She starved herself for several days so as to avoid having to go to the toilet.

After alighting from the train, she felt unwell and lost consciousness.

The doctor said the woman was under observation to see if the drugs had affected her baby.
