Dr Streram: Dr M’s presence will boost support

-

SEREMBAN: Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr S. Streram expects Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to make an appearance in Rantau this Friday, before polling on Saturday.

“Dr Mahathir’s presence can help us garner more support, especially from the Malay community,” he said at a press conference in Kampung Sega, Rantau. yesterday.

Dr Streram said he expects Dr Mahathir to attend Pakatan’s “grand finale” ceramah at Metro Park Sendayan tomorrow , a day before polling day on Saturday to give a ‘final push’ to his campaign.

He is also happy that PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli will be in Rantau to campaign for him.

“Rafizi has his own strategy to attract the youths and undecided voters,” he said.

When asked about how he could garner support from the Malay community and ensure them that their rights will be protected by the Pakatan government, Dr Streram said that Malay rights are protected in the Federal Constitution.

“I have never marginalised the Malays,” he said, adding that he will never question Malay rights.

Commenting on Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s joke that voters should not support him (Dr Streram), as “he only knows how to make people sleep”, Dr Streram, who is an anaesthetist, said: But (if we could) we want to put Barisan to sleep,” he quipped.

Dr Streram also rubbished Najib’s claim that Pakatan had raised several issues aimed at tarnishing the image of Barisan candidate Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan during the campaign period.

“We only want to know why he transferred RM10mil to London, not through the bank, but a money changer; not through the proper channels,” he said.
