Masterclass Series of talks
THE University of Nottingham Malaysia’s Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) is launching a Masterclass Series.
It is a programme of talks with thought leaders on contemporary topics in business and management.
Organised by the executive education arm of NUBS Malaysia, the Masterclass Series is a platform to connect the Business School and university community, alumni and industry partners.
The Masterclasses, which are complimentary and open to alumni and invited guests, will take place on weekday evenings at the University of Nottingham Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Teaching Centre at Chulan Tower, Jalan Conlay, Kuala Lumpur.
The inaugural Masterclass in the series will be held next Tuesday at 7pm, on the topic of the application of big data analytics and artificial intelligence in business.
It will be delivered by Prof Alain Chong, who is dean of the Graduate School at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
“Apart from offering excellent opportunities for networking with industry professionals, the Masterclasses will be an opportunity for academicians from our campuses in Malaysia, China and the United Kingdom to share our expertise and research with the business community,” said NUBS Malaysia dean Dr Lau Chee Kwong.
Dr Lau, who is also an associate professor of accounting at NUBS Malaysia, will deliver the second Masterclass on the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standard, dealing with accounting for lease contracts that took effect on Jan 1 this year. He will speak on June 18.
Future Masterclasses in this year’s series are scheduled to take place in July, August and September.
