He is fated to be Jambu, not Jamil

-

A CLERICAL error led to him being known as Jambu instead of Jamil, Sinar Harian reported.

“As a kid, I used to cry whenever my friends teased me with the names of the different types of rose apple such as jambu batu and jambu air,” said Jambu Along, 69.

The orang asli man from Gua Musang, Kelantan, said his father used to advise him to ignore the taunts.

When he grew up, he decided not to change his name after all.

“Even if I were to change my name, my friends will still call me Jambu. So I guess I am fated to be Jambu, not Jamil,” he said.

Jambu fathered six children with his four wives.

His children are named Adom, Asoh, Abil, Semang, Biyo and Alam.

Two of his wives have died; while his marriage to the second wife did not last long. “I have only one wife now,” he said. > Actress Nur Fathia Latiff, who admitted that she is at a low point in her career, said she wanted to change and would now focus on her online headscarf business, reported Pancaindera, a pullout in Mingguan Malaysia.

Nur Fathia, who faced criticism for taking off her hijab previously, said that she was improving herself.

“Actually, it is a big responsibility (to wear the hijab).

“That is not easy. I have made many mistakes,” said Nur Fathia, who is back to covering her head.

Nur Fathia, 31, said that due to a lack of acting offers, she would seize opportunities on social media.

“If there aren’t many acting offers, then at least I would have something else to fall back on.

“We cannot just rely on one source of income. Social media is also one of my platforms to do business.

“I have no other choice for survival,” she said.
