It takes 10 firemen to rescue 300kg bull stuck in mud

IT took 10 firemen to save a 300kg bull stuck in a muddy ditch in Sekinchan, Sinar Harian reported.

Sekinchan Fire and Rescue operations commander Mohd Syafarin Jais said it took about 10 minutes for the team to pull the animal out of the ditch using a fire hose.

He said they received a call about the incident at 6.41pm on Monday.

“Ten officers were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. It is understood that the animal had been stuck in the mud since noon before its owner noticed.

“The two-year-old bull, which weighed about 300kg, did not have any injuries and was returned to its owner,” he added.

The house in Sungai Petani was 90% burnt while a neighbouri­ng house suffered 40% burns.

Kuala Muda district police chief Adzli Abu Shah said the 24-year-old suspect, who has since been arrested, had been having an affair with the 33-year-old woman.

“During the incident, the house was empty because the woman, her husband and their four children had returned to their hometown in Baling,” he said in a statement.

He said the family had moved because the suspect had threatened to kill them due to jealousy.
