PETALING JAYA: Don’t turn your back on us.

Perak midfielder D. Kenny Pallraj (pic) has urged fans to continue supporting the team who have yet to hit top form in the Super League.

Kenny lamented that their six draws are hard to swallow as they dropped crucial points.

The former international understands why their fans are frustrated.

“Even though we didn’t lose, we lost two points in each of those six matches,” said the 26-year-old Kenny, who used to play for Harimau Muda during his junior days.

“Just like the fans, we’re disappointed too. “They think that some of the players are comfortable with these results but trust me, we are not.

“We are doing our best to win but so far it’s been futile. I urged the fans to keep believing in us.”

The Seladang have been labelled as “draw specialists”, which have infuriated fans of the Silver State.

Some fans have even questioned the players’ commitment as they believe Perak can do better than their eighth place in the league.

And the fans will be baying for blood if Perak fail to turn their fortunes around against second-placed Pahang at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh today.

The midfielder, who was rested in the FA Cup match against Jerantut due to a groin strain, is expected to start in place of Leandro Santos. The Brazilian midfielder is out due to suspension.

“It’s going to be a tough match. Pahang are an attacking side and are doing very well in the league.

“We have to control possession in midfield and make sure there is supply for our strikers. Our defence will also have to be on their toes as their wingers and forwards are very dangerous,” added Kenny.

Perak coach Mehmet Durakovic said the absence of Zac Anderson and Leandro makes their task more daunting.

“We only have two days of rest after our FA Cup tie, while Pahang have three. And they are a top side with unbelievable local and foreign players,” said the Australian.

“Yes, the draws are frustrating but believe me sooner or later we’ll be amongst the top teams in the league. I urge the fans to be a bit more patient.”
