Dr-Rosdi not a doctor but a fireman

-

A FIREMAN in Kedah has often been mistaken as a doctor because the name on his MyKad carries the title “Dr”.

He showed his MyKad to Harian Metro, which stated his name as Dr-Rosdi Mat Yusoff.

“Back then, there was a popular movie called Dr Rushdi by the late P. Ramlee. Maybe the birth registration officer really liked the movie,” said Dr-Rosdi, 48.

His father had wanted to name him Mohd Rosdi, he added.

> A married woman has shared with Utusan Malaysia her despair when she found out that her husband was having an affair with their maid.

The maid, she said, was initially a good worker who understood the family’s needs. But soon, the maid would often fall ill.

“She would have headaches, knee pains, fever, toothache or whatever excuses,” said the woman in an “Agony Uncle” column. She became suspicious when her husband would often take leave from work whenever the maid was sick.

“But he would ask me to go to work as usual,” said the woman, whose name was withheld.

One day, she came home abruptly and caught them together.

“I have asked for a divorce. Unfortunately, he refused to divorce me. He wants to marry the maid instead,” she said.

> Actress Elfira Loy, who tied the knot in January, is now pregnant, Berita Harian reported.

She said she was hesitant to confirm the news as the pregnancy was still in the very early stage.

She has passed the first trimester and the 25-year-old Elfira says all she is hoping for is a healthy baby.
