> Quota system kills

Thank you, Datuk Halimah Mohd Said, for explaining the matter of Malay envy, starting from the New Economy Policy of the post-Merdeka government. Older people have seen the benefits of learning with all races. Nowadays, the quota system kills good brains and brilliant students. If we want superior class citizens, all Malaysians must be given equal treatment. – STRaj

> Bumper price too

All durian lovers, please abstain from buying the King of Fruits while awaiting a bumper crop. Durian prices have been escalating because of great demand both locally and overseas. Despite bumper harvests, growers never seem to reduce prices for the benefit of those who regularly buy their fruits. Guess it’s just about getting more profits!

Government should allocate more financial resources to upgrade KTMB infrastruc­ture along the east coast. KTMB could be part of an integrated transport system with the East Coast Rail Link.

> Red card for referee

Investigat­e the referee who uttered racially discrimina­tory words on foreign players. Who is he to condemn the presence of foreign players in our league when the national football body, FAM, is trying to uplift our declining standards? We can do without him and his degrading and unprofessi­onal behaviour.

> Malaysians abroad

Malaysians living overseas are willing to work in restaurant­s there but not in their own country. Why? Why must we still depend on foreign workers to do this work?
