AN unemployed man was nabbed by the police for robbing his ex-wife in Temerloh, reported Sinar Harian.

The 32-year-old suspect, who has a drug addiction record, threatened his ex-wife with a knife in front of their two children aged five and 11.

Temerloh OCPD Asst Comm Zundin Mahmood said that in the April 26 incident, the woman, who worked as a petrol pump assistant, was riding a motorcycle with her two children.

She was on the way to her employer’s house to deliver cash from the sales at the petrol station that she worked at when she was stopped by the man.

He then threatened her with a knife. “The suspect took the victim’s purse which was in the motorcycle basket and ran off,” he said, adding that the couple divorced three years ago.

He said that the woman lost RM400 belonging to her boss and also a mobile phone, with the total loss estimated at RM1,000.

The suspect was arrested in Pekan Kuala Krau on Wednesday morning and is being remanded for five days.

> Selling salted duck eggs started as a hobby for housewife Suriani Abdul. But it has now enabled her to get up to RM2,000 a month, reported Harian Metro.

The 42-year-old from Kangar said that she started the venture three years ago with her late father, when they reared ducks to destroy snails at their padi field. However, the ducks started producing eggs and she decided to sell them as they were filling up the whole coop.

During Ramadan, Suriani prepares between 800 and 3,000 eggs to sell to her loyal customers around Perlis.

“I sell them at a low price between 80 sen and RM1 per egg. Usually a week or two before Ramadan, customers would come to my house to book the eggs, she said.

Suriani added that she was able to sell the salted eggs cheaply because she did not preserve the eggs in charcoal and soil.

“I soak them in brine for two weeks until the eggs become salty. It’s easier and cheap while guaranteeing good quality,” said Suriani, who now has 130 ducks.

Datin Shahida Abd Rashid needed to be in the hospital for four to five days because the doctor wanted to ensure that her pregnancy is stable.

“The doctor informed me that there’s a big possibility that the baby can be saved. But Shahida needs to be in the hospital as she is still weak after losing a lot of blood,” he said.

Aliff, who recently sparked public uproar after uploading a video of him caning his nineyear-old daughter for taking off her hijab, added that the doctor will do a follow up check-up to confirm whether his wife is carrying twins.

“Early checks showed that there were two babies. So in two weeks, the doctor will confirm whether both are safe,” he said.

Aliff and Shahida married in 2007 and have four children aged between eleven months and 11 years old.
