Neelofa gets a Sarawak kek lapis named after her

CELEBRITY Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has good-naturedly praised a trader of Sarawak kek lapis (layer cake) who had named a product after her, Utusan Malaysia reported.

It all came about when the kuih trader promoted her cakes, some of which were named after Malaysian personalities, on Twitter.

Besides Neelofa, there were cakes named after celebrities such as Datuk Aaron Aziz and Erra Fazira, athlete Pandalela Rinong and second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak.

Neelofa, an actress and fashion brand owner of Naelofar Hijab, had not known about the layer cake until she found out about it on Twitter.

She then tweeted her gratitude to the trader.

“Hope you will have rezeki (generous fortune) this Ramadan,” she said.

> The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) is hunting down several people who were photographed with the carcass of a clouded leopard, Kosmo! reported.

The image, which is making its rounds on Facebook, showed the men holding up the carcass at a farm in Alor Gajah, Melaka.

Clouded leopards are protected under the Second Schedule of the Wildlife Conservation Act.

Those found to have hunted it without a permit can be slapped with a RM500,000 fine and five-year jail term.

Melaka Perhilitan director Mohd Hasdi Husin said his team had found the carcass of the animal at the farm, adding that there were injuries on its neck and feet.
