Mother of three girls had slash wounds all over her body. Three foreigners arrested.

SHAH ALAM: Three foreigners have been detained in connection with the murder of Serdang Hospital’s nursing sister Siti Kharina Mohd Kamarudin, 40, at a condominium in Cyberjaya.

The suspects – a 35-year-old Nigerian woman, a Nigerian man in his 30s and a 38-year-old Pakistani man – were detained by the police in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

It is learnt that the three were involved in a mobile phone business.

Siti Kharina was reported missing on May 10 when she did not return home after leaving for work in Serdang Hospital on May 9.

She was mother to three daughters – a 14-year-old and a pair of 10-year-old twins.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin said Siti Kharina’s body was discovered at the condominium on Wednesday.

“We discovered slash wounds on the chest, neck and head of the victim.

“The body was discovered partially clothed after the unit’s landlord saw blood flowing from inside the apartment,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

The victim lived with her family in Negri Sembilan but the condominium unit in Cyberjaya was also rented by her, he added.

“The forensic unit collected evidence from the apartment, which included a knife, blood sample and clothing.

“We believe the victim had been dead for between four and five days,” he said.

Comm Noor Azam said police were also investigating the connection between the suspects and the victim.

Asked if they were business associates, he added that police were still investigating.

“The motive for the murder has yet to be established,” he noted.

The Health Ministry, meanwhile, extended its condolences to Siti Kharina’s family.

“We are confident the police are doing their best to solve the case. The public should refrain from speculating to avoid jeopardising the investigations and out of respect for her family,” said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement yesterday.
