> Why repeat failure?
If we are not satisfied with our achievements thus far and resolve to improve ourselves, that is a noble beginning. But do not expect changes for the better to take place if we keep applying the same old methods as before. The same affirmative action to help an underprivileged group which has failed to achieve its objectives cannot be perpetually used to get different results. A new method has to be formulated if we are to expect a different outcome. – Chong Foi Yun, Bandar Kinrara, Selangor
> Doubly accountable
Don’t just go after those who stoke the fires of racial sentiment on any media. Politicians should be held doubly accountable because they understand the consequences of their actions and their words carry more weight. There are other ways to garner support, otherwise they are just bankrupt of ideas.
> Ugly sight
Why are people allowed to sleep at night on the floor next to the KTMB ticket counter at KL Sentral? They are not waiting passengers nor awaiting last mile transport. It is an international transport hub, not a bus stop. – PJ Gomes
> Guide them
Many school leavers do not go for further studies. The Human Resources Ministry should visit every school yearly to register these young people and channel them into their desired jobs that are currently dominated by foreigners. Most youths want to work; they just don’t know how to get jobs. – Ex Teacher
> Abolish this tax
MCA is absolutely right to suggest that the 5% RPGT (real property gains tax) on property sold after five years of ownership be abolished. The tax so far has failed to address the property glut, after all. – Wym
> Good work, cops!
Kudos to the police and the new IGP on recent successes in thwarting crime. Keep up the good work and always remain steadfast, professional, colourblind, and act without fear or favour. Soon enough, you’ll have the full confidence of the rakyat once again. – A Senior Citizen
> Show some respect
Respect the dead, especially murder victims, and the feelings of surviving family members. Media and authorities should refrain from describing what the dead wore at the time of death. It demeans the dead and adds no real value to the living.
