KUALA LUMPUR: The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.

Ahead of the prestigious British Open (May 20-26), national squash player Ng Eain Yow has been training for the last two weeks with former world No. 1 Mohamed El Shorbagy and Marwan El Shorbagy.

Egyptian Mohamed, the current world No. 2, is a former world champion and twotime British Open winner while his brother Marwan is a former world No. 3.

“It’s good for me to be able to join the Shorbagy brothers again. I’ve also trained with them last year and it was really beneficial,” said Eain Yow.

“Getting to spar with these guys will help me get a feel of the pace and intensity playing against the world’s top players.

“This is a big part of my game that I feel I need to improve on.

“I know I have the skills but I still need to be able to perform at the top level.”

The world No. 36 has been in fine form, having fought his way into the semi-finals of the Asian Individual Championships at the National Squash Centre earlier this month.

Along the way he collected the scalp of defending champion and world No. 23 Max Lee of Hong Kong 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7 in the quarter-final.

Eain Yow however met his match losing to world No. 10 and eventual winner Saurav Ghosal of India.

In the British Open, he will open his campaign against Englishman and world No. 22 Tom Richards.

If Eain Yow creates an upset, he will be up against world No. 5 Simon Rosner of Germany.

“Tom has been playing well throughout the season. I’ve been watching him a lot and I have a good idea of what to do to get the better of him.”
