Rozita slammed for wearing white beaded jubah to hospital
POPULAR actress Rozita Che Wan (pic) attracted criticism over the white beaded jubah she wore while visiting patients at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor recently, reported Kosmo!’s entertainment pullout Hab Hib.
Her outfit was criticised by netizens, including the wife of Malaysian astronaut Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha, medical specialist Datin Dr Halina Mohd Yunos.
“Where is the hospital’s infectious disease unit in Sungai Buloh?
“Can you please check, there is someone wearing an outfit with feathers and sitting on a patient’s bed. What if the virus spreads?”
Dr Halina wrote online.
In response, Rozita, who is popularly known as Che
Ta, said Dr Halina should not make baseless allegations.
“I was wearing a white jubah with beads, not feathers. She should not simply make accusations if she does not know the real situation,” Rozita said.
She added that she went to visit the patients after receiving an invitation from the hospital.
“I agreed to go as the hospital is near my office and I had some free time,” she said, adding that the hospital management was aware of her visit.
“I know the etiquette when visiting those in the hospital. It is impossible for me to simply sit on a patient’s bed if he or she does not give me permission to do so,” she said.
She also revealed that she was not paid to go to the hospital.
“There is no payment when I do charity. If my appearance will lessen their pain, I think that is already considered payment.
“If any parties are unhappy with visits by celebrities, please complain directly to the hospital management,” she added.
