TaylorMade introduces Tour-preferred design
TAYLORMADE Golf has announced the second generation of its successful line of Milled Grind wedges – the Milled Grind 2 (MG2).
Building on years of research and working closely with some of the best players in the world, the MG2 has a new raw face design for optimal spin and precision wedge play.
Similar to its predecessor and also found in the new P·7TW irons is the company’s CNC milling technology that allows for the production to exacting specifications – each leading edge and sole grind is individually milled.
With the new MG2 wedges, TaylorMade’s engineers have utilised the combination of face and groove design to optimise spin and feel.
The raw grooves combined with a rougher surface enable the golfer to create more friction between the clubface and the ball, thus generating more greenside spin. Compared with plated grooves, the raw face design reduces the potential for the golf ball to skid up the clubface before it grips the face leading to a more consistent ball flight.
“Our Tour players have long benefited from the performance raw wedges offer and it’s great to now be able to offer these performance gains to golfers of all levels,” said TaylorMade’s senior director of Product Creation, Putters & Wedges, Bill Price. “We’re confident they will enjoy the look, feel and performance that a raw face has to offer.”
The MG2 wedges are available in satin chrome and matte black finishes, and come with a suggested retail price of RM950. The Hi-Toe Big Foot wedges, offered in 58 and 60-degree lofts, also come with a suggested retail price of RM950.
